| | Today was pretty marvelous, all in all. The only disappointment was realizing that there had been a "Mad Scientist Party" at the Manhattan Public Library-- and I missed it! I met Sam at lunch-time to give him his fudge (thankfully, he was more than OK with my last minute mint substitute (I had no vanilla!)) and we had one of our usual rapid-fire conversations for about half an hour before he had to leave. Discovered, to our mutual delight, that we are both-- unbeknownst to and uninfluenced by each other-- singing "The Cloak, The Boat, and The Shoes" by Ben Moore! Very awesome. Went out to the Grand Ol' Trunk thrift store after that-- got some pretty Blue Willow plates! I'm starting to build my "hope chest" (or my "move away from home & go to college" chest-- whatever you wanna call it!) and I need to start adding more practical things besides teacups... haha!
Then I had Lunch! Attempted the 4th Street Cafe... closed... "Howdy's"... people were present but the door was locked... so I had cheese tortellini at Mr. Goodcents. Yum! Then I had voice lessons! Still feeling a bit under the weather... but definitely an improvement on last week! Lots of fun... getting past the "new teacher" stage and starting to really get into the groove. Worked on bringing "Ave Verum" (Karl Jenkins) up to speed in my 20-year-old voice... since the last time I really worked on it, I was 17, and my voice has changed quite a bit since! Popped into say Hi to a very "frantic" (his own word) Dr. Pittman... he is in the final stretch of preparing for NATS auditions this weekend... over 300 students will be coming to K-State to audition! Glad I don't have his job... ;) Killed some time in Bed, Bath & Beyond... more "hope chest" planning! Theeeeennnn.... I came back to Hale Library to write this highly pointless and highly grammatically incorrect blog entry! Aren't you glad. I know I owe a sort-of "back-log" entry to bring you all up to speed, but in the meanwhile... you get what you get, which happens to be this! |
